Components Audio – OK, I know I’ll take a lot of $#!% for this but we just went down to the local Circuit City and bought a Kenwood package deal with a VR 507 receiver and 6 speakers including a subwoofer. And hey, you know what? It sounds pretty darn good. For under 500 bucks that's hard to beat. DVD – Same trip to Circuit City, we bought a 7 disk progressive scan JVC XV-F85GD for under $300. Somewhere down the line I’ll start building the HTPC but for now this is great. DSS – We already had DirecTV so we decided to keep it as is for the short term. I’m 90% convinced we’ll buy one of those $100 DirecTivo boxes to support 16:9 and Optical out soon. Can’t quite justify the HDTV receiver yet as programming still seems limited and we really love Tivo (we have one in our room and it’s awesome).
